Fountain Of Youth, part 1: Involution

Normally, I’m all praises for Jim McElwee’s thoughtful treatments on brainwave entrainment and this is no exception.

However, I feel that I must elaborate on a few of his colorful assertions on maintaining our youth. When I say colorful, I mean that any individual interpretation under the rainbow can be applied to that statement. Jim is clearly relying upon good judgemental heuristics of his readers; some people might take, “the younger you act, the younger you look” in a neurotic, less than mature way.

The following is part one of Jim’s Dissertation on the Fountain of Youth. After that, I follow with a few of my own ideas and that of a few holistic doctors on maintaining our youth:

Tools for Lifting Your Spirits and Easing Your Mind

Do you ever just wish you could turn off all the “bad” news for a while and relax into something that lifts your spirits and eases your mind?

These days it can feel nearly impossible to maintain a compassionate attitude and a sense of hope in the midst of the struggles and challenges we face. Yet, as spiritually minded people, we know how important it is to feel good on the inside if we want to create good on the outside.

If you’re like me, you may already engage in positive practices - prayer, meditation, exercise, healthy foods, gratitude, inspirational reading. They all help, but wouldn’t it be great if you could give yourself a little “good vibration re-boot” by simply settling into your favorite chair, gathering loved ones around and pressing “Play”?

I’m happy to say it is possible!

I do it by watching great films from Spiritual Cinema Circle! These high quality, inspirational films are showcased at elite film festivals, like Sundance, but rarely do they make it to the theater or other standard outlets.

You, however, can get a front row seat now, when you take advantage of the free trial membership (a $21 value). You only pay $4.95 shipping and handling.

How do You Vote? By Your Caucus or Your Conscience? part 3: Projection

Conscience, Judgment, and Value Systems

A while back, I said this blog was for expressing personal opinions, especially mine; this series on conscience is no exception. Although HealingMindN is based in psychic human potential, that human potential is only as stable as the conscience which supports it.

Conscience is the guiding recognition of right and wrong in regards to our actions and motives. Although this may seem to be a global definition of conscience for every human being, let’s have a look at a popular quote by Thomas Hobbes from Leviathan, part 2, chapter 29:

“A man’s conscience and his judgement is the same thing, and as the judgement, so also the conscience, may be erroneous.”

For a moment, let’s focus on what might make us erroneous. As individuals, we are all brought up with different values. For me, that’s OK. I respect different cultures with their different value systems - as long as they’re life-positive.

How do You Vote? By Your Caucus or Your Conscience? part 2

So, here I am nearly $1000 down and one new, custom PC up. What have we learned from this? We pay the price to stay connected - whether to our work or socially. Some of us pay a much bigger price to feel connected, important, respected. Some of us pay a much bigger price to feel like part of something bigger - sometimes at the cost of others.

For example, people go to church, so they can feel like they are part of something bigger, but there’s not much of a price being paid there unless you’re following a cult leader or TV evangelist.

Other sunday activities include farmer’s markets. Have you ever been to your local farmer’s market? There’s usually a lot of hustle and bustle (aka hubu), especially when the crowd gets bigger. I have a friend who told me about one day when he was at the local farmer’s market with his 80 year old mother.

One of the younger hubus who like to run around with wheeled cases behind them tripped up this 80 year old woman and caused her injuries (i.e. bruised her knee, then she fell and hurt her lip, her cheek, her brow, and broke her glasses). Evidently, the hubu felt guilty at the time and provided my friend with his name and phone number for a follow up.

A few days later when my friend called the younger hubu, he would admit to no wrong doing - because there was no police report and no medical documentation of the event. The hubu felt guilt free with a clear conscience - ready to return to the next farmer’s market, so he could join all the other hubus again. Of course, this is only one hubu story of many.

How do You Vote? By Your Caucus or Your Conscience? part 1

Let’s talk about our every day lifestyles rather than a general political election for the moment. Did you know that every decision you make counts as a vote? Every direction you take is a vote for THAT direction.

The type of soap you use, the type of food you eat, the type of clothes you wear, the type of car you drive, especially decisions about your health and money are all votes cast by you for a certain lifestyle. The question is: When you vote, are you voting with your conscience or are you going with the social trends?

Did you know that there are regular social experiments being performed on American Citizens? Perhaps, you have heard of the famous Milgram Experiments, whether or not you have taken psychology.

GCI Response to 2012 Deathly Predictions from Mayan Calendar

With all the predictions and theories of destruction flying around due to the Mayan Calendar, it’s important to get alternate, reasonable points of view. The following research from Dr. Annette Deyhle reassures us that no natural disasters will befall humanity on December 21st, 2012 outside of what has already happened.

Please understand what he tells us with an open heart. An open heart is all that anyone ever asks of us wherein understanding and compassion are most important. We will discuss the introductory coherence technique by Doc Childre after wards:

Had enough bad news? Open Your Conscience for a Shift

Do you ever just wish you could turn off all the “bad” news for a while and relax into something that lifts your spirits and eases your mind?

Thomas Hobbes once wrote: “A mans conscience and his judgement is the same thing, and as the judgement, so also the conscience, may be erroneous.” {Leviathan, part 2, chap. 29}

How can a person’s conscience become erroneous? What if that person was constantly deluged every day with bad news? How would that person feel? That person gains beliefs based in fear. Do you agree?

If that person has beliefs based in fear, then that person’s conscience and judgments will also be based in fear. Do you live in fear from all the bad news? Of course, a person with beliefs based in fear may call himself a “realist” whereas this person may call another person with beliefs based in love an “idealist.”

Truth be told, the person on one hand who lives by beliefs based in fear and the person on the other hand who lives by beliefs based in love are both realists and idealists; they both live by their own realities. They both idealize the world according to their beliefs. The difference maker is: The creation of the entire universe is based in love. People with beliefs based in love may be very few on this planet, but are still part of the 99.999999999% of the consciousness in this universe. Why not go with the majority?

Which reality do you prefer? A world based in compassion and hope? Or a world based in darkness and despair? When you finally choose a world based in love, Spiritual Cinema Circle can help keep your world alive.
